I Should Have...

I should've ridden my bike to the grocery store yesterday. Shoula, coulda, woulda... 

All I needed was a damned onion. One single, solitary, stupid onion. I THOUGHT about riding my bike. But then I thought about all the steps I had to go through to do that: check tire pressure, air up tires, make sure I have my lock, put on my helmet and gloves, figure out appropriate clothes since it's not currently summer, find it all, and put it on... 

So I got in my car. My neighbor had parked in her spot behind me, so I had to do some crazy maneuvers to get out of my driveway. I had to wait for pedestrians to cross the street. The grocery store is only a few blocks, but I managed to catch EVERY red light.... 

It took me just as long to drive as it would have to ride my bike, and all I got for my efforts was frustrated. And, of course, when I got back home, I realized I'd misread the recipe and didn't need the stupid onion after all. 

I should've ridden my bike.

Too Cold

I had all the gear ready and mind set to commute to work while Inlighten Studios was closed over the Holiday's to do some remodeling. The remodeling went great but the idea of commuting was quickly abandoned as the ice and snow packed roads proved useless.
Hope others were able to get out and about on those nice Fat Tire bikes I've seen! On a good note, I did get in a New Year Threshold test at Defined Fitness Training. If you're planning on racing this season and missed the 1st test, another one is planned for 1/27; it's a great starting point for the training needed to have a great season.

Anticipation

Wow what a great 2015 our TCL gals had! I'm so looking forward to 2016; new kit, goals with new and familiar faces.
Now to get shower put in at Inlighten Studios....

Let's get some miles posted before Jan. 1 ladies!

What makes me feel pretty awesome? Fitting an entire cart’s worth of camping trip groceries in my Big Dummy.

What makes me feel more awesome? When I’m pushing said cart out the door and the nice cashier says, “Do you need help to your car with all that, miss?”

Singletrack Crossbike Adventure

Just showing off the vest! It's not commuter related, although still riding my cargo bike every day. I'm ready for my camping season to be over so I can ride a normal bike and not be hauling stuff back and forth everyday, but it sure has been nice to spend so much time outside. Anyone else riding a little cross this year?
